The address that made Marbella: a princely beach estate on the Golden Mile, still the heart of the Costa del Sol.
Selected by TheMediterranean.com
In 1954 Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe turned his family's beach estate into the Marbella Club, and the princes, film stars and bankers of Europe followed him south. A quiet Andalusian fishing village became Spain's most glamorous resort town, and the Club remained its centre.
The rooms are spread through tropical gardens in low buildings, and the villas sit behind their own walls with private gardens and pools. MICHELIN gives it two Keys and notes that it keeps the atmosphere of a princely residence.
It stands on the Golden Mile, between the old town and Puerto Banús, in the heart of Spain's most international market for luxury homes.

Rooms and suites
The 113 rooms and suites are set in low-slung buildings among the gardens, in the manner of a private estate rather than a tower hotel.
The most exclusive villas stand behind private gardens, each with its own pool.
Dining
MICHELIN counts five restaurants at the hotel, with a poolside bar and room service through the night. Its own beach club and pier are on the sea in front of the gardens.
