Why we selected Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo

The Hôtel de Paris opened in 1864 on the Place du Casino, built by the Société des Bains de Mer alongside the Casino and the Café de Paris to create Monte-Carlo itself. It remains the principality's palace hotel, with rooms that look down on the Grand Prix circuit.

A rebuilding finished in 2019 added the Diamond Suites, led by the Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III suites, with rooftop terraces and private pools above the harbour. Below the hotel lies a celebrated wine cellar cut into the rock.

It has held Forbes Five-Star every year since 2020, is the only hotel in Monaco with three MICHELIN Keys, and ranked No. 40 among the World's 50 Best Hotels in 2026.

Where to be, every season

Four letters a year, one for each season: the Mediterranean from spring to autumn, and Beyond the Mediterranean, into the Alps, in winter. The one best hotel to book, and the events worth crossing a sea for.
