Five suites in a modernist mountain house above Gozd Martuljek, facing the peaks of the Julian Alps.
Selected by TheMediterranean.com
Chalet Sofija is a modernist mountain house on the slope above Gozd Martuljek, a village between Kranjska Gora and Bled. Its glass faces look across to the peaks of the Martuljek range, in the country of Triglav.
There are just five suites, each named after one of the owners' grandchildren, and the chef-owner cooks in an open kitchen facing the mountains. Stays are half board, and the house is for adults only.
It is the only hotel in Slovenia with two MICHELIN Keys, held in 2025 and again in 2026: an Alpine retreat of rare intimacy.
