The Cristallo becomes a Mandarin Oriental

Published

The grand hotel of Cortina d'Ampezzo is entering a new chapter. The Cristallo, built by the Menardi family in 1901 above the town, the winter address of Europe's cultured travellers from the 1930s and of the stars after the Winter Olympics of 1956, reopens in early 2027 as Mandarin Oriental Cristallo, Cortina, the group's first ski resort.

After a full renovation it will have some eighty rooms, thirty of them suites, many with balconies facing the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and a spa whose pool runs from inside the building out into the mountain air.

For ski holidays in the Dolomites until it opens, Cortina's other five-star hotels, among them the Ancora and the Grand Hotel Savoia, are on our Cortina guide.
